INTERMENT RIGHT PRICING
CASKETED BURIAL
Interment rights are available for purchase in the four (4) primary sections of the cemetery. The right to inter casketed remains ranges from $995.00 to $1,295.00.
An additional $300.00 charge is assessed for an interment right that utilizes the option of "natural earth interment". This additional charge is to help defray the long-term, additional costs of maintaining a grave space when no outer burial container is used. For more information, see our "Natural Burial" page.
CREMATION (URN) BURIAL
Oak Hill Cemetery has special areas in three (3) of the sections of the cemetery that are designed specifically for interment of cremated remains. The right to inter cremated remains in an urn garden section is $495.00.
Cremated remains may be interred in full-size (casket) grave spaces; however, if the grave space was previously purchased and another interment has already taken place, or will be taking place in the future, an additional $395.00 charge is assessed for a second right of interment.
Clients often misunderstand this charge, thinking that they "own" the grave and therefore should be able to bury as many remains in it as they wish. However, Oak Hill (like most other cemeteries) does not sell "property". Rather, we sell "Interment Rights" (i.e. the right to inter someone in a designated space within our cemetery). There is a charge for each human remains that we are asked to inter; keep records for; and take perpetual liability for.

Oak Hill Cemetery is an "Endowment Care Cemetery" and contributes 15% of the sale price of every interment right to an irreducible endowment fund to provide for the future care of the cemetery.

A discount of 10% is offered for all interment rights that are sold in advance of death.

Oak Hill Cemetery offers payment plans with no finance charges for up to 24 months, with as little as a 10% down-payment.

Infant spaces are available in a variety of locations. The charge for an infant interment right is a maximum of $395.00, but less expensive options are available.

Only non-biodegradable urns (cast bronze or marble) may be interred directly in the earth. All other urns or containers (wood, sheet metal, plastic, cardboard) must be interred in an urn vault. The only exception to this regulation is when "natural earth interment" is utilized.
